October is Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month
RAISING AWARENESS FOR Substance Use & Misuse Prevention

In honor of Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month, Chester County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services is raising awareness about the CDC’s ‘Up and Away’ campaign, which focuses on preventing accidental medication overdoses in children.
This campaign encourages caregivers to safely store medications out of children’s reach and sight. By promoting responsible medication storage and use, the initiative supports the broader goals of Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding families from the dangers of substance misuse and creating a healthier, drug-free future for children.
