Recovery Works!
The mission of Chester County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services is to ensure that quality alcohol and other drug intervention and treatment, as well as alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention programs are provided for citizens in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

October is Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month
Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month raises awareness about preventing substance use in communities, stopping the progression of use to a disorder, and reducing consequences associated with use. It highlights efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, reduce drug use, and support recovery for individuals affected by substance use disorders. We know that prevention works and can strengthen protective factors while reducing risk factors in individuals, families, schools, and our community. The initiative encourages collaboration among families, schools, and organizations to create supportive environments for youth and adults. By promoting education and outreach, the month fosters conversations around the risks of substance misuse and the importance of early prevention and intervention.
