Celebrating Black History Month in 2026!
As the City of Coatesville celebrates Black History Month, we invite residents to reflect, learn, and celebrate the enduring impact African-Americans, their history, and their impact here in our community and across our nation. Coatesville’s identity has been built through the labor, leadership, creativity, and civic participation of African-American residents across generations.
Just as important, we celebrate the present as we continue to strengthen Coatesville and expand what is possible for the next generation. Please continue to read, listen, attend local events, support our local business owners, and have conversations that deepen understanding and build unity. When we honor Black history, we strengthen our shared future by recognizing both the barriers that have existed and the extraordinary progress made through resilience, education, service, and community pride.. Happy Black History Month, Coatesville!
