The City of Coatesville has awarded the 2008, 2009, and 2010 recycling contracts to Charles Blosenski. Charles Blosenski will collect recyclables every week. Recyclables will be picked up on the same designated day as trash in the front of the property.

The residents of the City now have access to a yard waste drop off location at the Central Chester County Recycling Authority compost site located at 2240 Upper Gap Road. Open on the second Saturday of each month from 8 am to 2 pm. Directions; take South First Avenue to Sount on Youngsburg Road to the left on Upper Gap Raod, Site is 3/4 mile on the right

SCHEDULE

  • WHEN
    • Pick up day for recycling will be every week, the same as your trash collection.

    • Special pick-up dates for yard trimmings and white metal (washers, dryers, hot water heaters, refrigerators, air conditioners). YOU MUST CALL CITY HALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

  • WHAT
    • Newspaper, junk mail, magazines, cereal boxes (inside packaging removed), ;should be bundled and tied or put in a brown paper bag. Then set along side ;of the recycling container.

    • Brown, green and clear class, aluminum cans, bi-metal cans should be rinsed and placed in the recycling container.

    • Aluminum and bi-metal cans should be rinsed and placed in the recycling containers.

    • REMOVE ALL CAPS AND LIDS--

      Sorry, we cannot take any PLASTICS, light bulbs, mirrors, ceramics, oil cans, dishes or window glass, crystal, flower pots, metallic wrapping paper, aerosol cans, wire hangers, tin foil or pots and pans.

      Clear glass, green glass, brown glass, aluminum, bi-metal cans, steel (tin), mixed paper including: newspaper, magazines, and cardboard, etc.

  • WHERE
    • Place recycling containers and mixed paper at curbside in the front of your property. Trash is placed to the rear of property.

  • HOW
    • Excluding the mixed paper, all glass, aluminum, bi-metal and steel can be co-mingled; which means you may mix them together.
