The City of Coatesville has awarded the solid waste contract to Eagle Disposal of PA, Inc. as the lowest responsible provider. They will begin collecting the City’s trash and recycling April 1, 2011 and continue through March 31, 2014. Eagle Disposal will collect trash every week for the City of Coatesville. Trash will be picked up on the designated day, generally in the rear of the property.
This weekly service is limited to a maximum of 6 cans (32 gallon maximum capacity). In addition, each property owner will be permitted to place one (1) bulk item per week out with their trash; bulk items will include furniture but not heavy metal items.
Trash and recyclables may not be placed out for pick-up earlier than twelve hours prior to the pick-up time, but not before 6:00 p.m. the evening before.
Use the left-hand navigation menu to learn about the City’s mandatory recycling program as you are not permitted to place qualifying recyclables in with your normal trash. Nor are you allowed to put construction materials or yard waste in with your normal trash.
Please contact Public Works at (610) 384-2861 if you have any questions or concerns – or if your trash/recyclables are not collected. The City is in constant contact with the waste management company during the day. Please note that the deadline for notifying Public Works of a missed pick-up is 2:00 p.m. the day of your scheduled collection.
Ultimately, recycling is in every resident’s best environmental and financial interest given that for every ton of recycling not placed in the waste stream, the City realizes a savings of $57.00 per ton. This savings helps offset the yearly cost of waste collection in the City and has a direct impact on the amount you pay each year for your solid waste collection services.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
