Main Street Coatesville ![]() Redevelopment Project Director- Rob Barry 209 East Lincoln Highway Coatesville, PA 19320 Phone: 610-380-7045 Fax: 610-380-7048 Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:00 Purpose Statement To create a healthy viable business district that will enable us to retain our heritage, economic health and sense of civic pride, which has been associated with the City of Coatesville since its conception. The City of Coatesville is utilizing the Main Street Approach to downtown revitalization, as designed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and operated by the National Main Street Center in Washington, DC. A four-step approach was created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to help guide the redevelopment of downtowns throughout the United States. The four-steps are:
Organization: Refers to the building of partnerships between the public and private sectors. These partnerships will work together to build consensus and cooperation among those who have a stake in the vitality of the City of Coatesville.
Design: Incorporates a program of improving the City's image by enhancing our physical appearance. We will accomplish this through the improvement of streetlights, sidewalks, signage, parking areas, window displays and façade improvements.
Promotion: Involves marketing the unique characteristics of the Coatesville community, which is rich in history and beautiful architecture, conveniently located with easy access to major arteries such as the Route 30 bypass and Route 202, the Chester County Airport and the railways.
Economic Restructuring: Rebuilding Coatesville's economic vitality is the ultimate goal of our Main Street program. To accomplish this, we have been building partnerships with local agencies that are able to help our entrepreneurs expand their businesses while we recruit new businesses that will compliment our current merchants and offer a more diverse shopping experience to you the consumer.
