City of Coatesville Declaration of Emergency

Public announcement – Hurricane Sandy

Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Sandy, Council President David Collins has signed a Declaration of a State of Emergency dated October 27, 2012.
In accordance with that declaration, the Emergency Manager is instituting a daily Curfew from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, beginning Monday October 29, 2012 until Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 7:00 AM in order to provide for the prevention of loss of life or property. This curfew is for residents and visitors of all ages.
The Coatesville Police Department is authorized to enforce this temporary emergency curfew.
It is recommended that once inclement weather begins everyone should remain indoors in a safe structure throughout the incident. Residents should anticipate severe weather including heavy rains through Wednesday accompanied by severe winds. Please see attached weather report. We anticipate power outages, flooding, some structural damage, downed trees and downed power lines.
Any residents that have special needs that demand electricity should contact the Coatesville Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 610-384-0300 extension 0.
You may also contact the EOC at 610-384-0300 extension 0 to report other non-emergency storm related problems including but not limited to flooded roadways, downed trees, power outages etc.
